Questions we hear a lot

Frequently asked questions.

Maintenance

Will there be any maintenance?

No mowing, no watering, no fertilizing. Occasional rinse to knock off dust, a leaf blower for debris. If you have dogs, a quick enzyme-cleaner spray a few times a year keeps things fresh. That's the whole list.

How much does it cost to maintain artificial turf annually?

For most residential yards in Aledo or Southlake, annual maintenance runs roughly $75 to $175. That typically covers an occasional rinse and a small amount of infill top-off for higher-traffic areas.

Cost & Financing

What does artificial turf cost?

Most residential installs run $8 to $9 per square foot depending on size and product. Custom putting greens run $10 to $12 per square foot because they need precision grading and specialized turf.

How much will I save on my water bill?

North Texas homeowners typically see a 40 to 60 percent reduction in monthly water bills after switching to artificial turf. Over the 15 to 20 year lifespan of the product, those savings usually more than double the install cost.

Do you provide financing?

Yes. A few financing programs if you'd rather spread the cost out. Low monthly payments, no hidden fees. Financing doesn't change the install price.

Any hidden repair costs down the road?

No. Our turf is UV-stabilized and built for the Texas sun, so it won't get brittle or fade under normal use. The only real repair cost would be physical damage — fire, sharp equipment, that kind of thing.

Heat, Pets & Safety

Is artificial turf hot?

In direct sun, turf can get warm. We mitigate this with specialized cooling infills that keep the surface up to 20 percent cooler than standard infill, making it comfortable for bare feet and pet paws.

Will it smell if I have dogs?

Not with our system. We use high-flow drainage backing combined with antimicrobial infill, which prevents odor buildup and keeps the yard clean for pets.

Is turf safe for dogs or kids?

Yes. Artificial turf is used in dog parks and playgrounds across the country. Our playground installs use IPEMA-certified fall-height protection and 100 percent lead-free materials.

Install & Lifespan

How do you install artificial turf?

We remove existing sod and up to five inches of dirt, bring in a compactable base that drains, install a 15-year weed barrier, lay and secure the turf, then add infill, brush, and clean. A proper base is what makes a turf install last.

How long does it take to install?

Most residential installs take a few days to a full week depending on yard size and complexity. Full field conversions run longer and get a custom timeline.

How long does artificial turf last?

Rated for 15-20 years and backed by a 15-year product warranty plus a 1-year install warranty. UV-stabilized fiber that holds up to the North Texas sun without fading or cracking.

How do I estimate square footage?

Putting Greens & Specialty

Do you install backyard putting greens?

Yes, a lot of them. Custom greens with tuned stimp speed and a fringe that matches your playing style. They roll true.

Why are putting greens more expensive per square foot?

Custom greens need precision grading, specialized turf, and careful finishing to get the right ball response. The materials and labor per square foot are higher than a standard residential lawn install.

What about a 25-year warranty I have seen advertised?

We have heard that claim and it is the first we have come across. We talk to a lot of turf suppliers and a 25-year warranty is not something we have found. We stand behind a 15-year product warranty and a 1-year installation warranty, and we mean it.

Should we keep our sprinklers?

You can, but you do not have to. Turf does not need watering. Some customers keep their system on a reduced schedule to water the foundation of the house, which is common in North Texas, but that is optional.
