Pre-Cast Concrete Plunge Pools & Modern Backyards in Aledo, TX

A pre-cast concrete plunge pool from Bearcat Turf & Outdoors: built off-site, set by crane in a single day, and matched to a turf surround that never fights Parker County clay. We are a Soake Pools Preferred Partner, based in Aledo, serving Walsh, Willow Park, and La Madera.

The Parker County soil factor.

Aledo and Weatherford sit on some of the most expansive clay in the DFW metroplex. It swells 2 to 4 inches after a wet spring and shrinks back down through an August drought, and that cycle repeats every year the pool is in the ground.

A gunite pool takes that movement directly. The shell is sprayed over rebar in your excavated yard and cured against whatever the clay is doing that month, and the shrink-swell cycle is the root cause of the structural cracking we see in older gunite pools around Aledo. A pre-cast shell skips that exposure entirely: it is cast in one continuous pour, cured under controlled conditions in a factory, and only reaches your yard as a finished, monolithic piece.

On site, the pool sits on an engineered, compacted base, not directly on your native clay. That base is built the same way we build a proper turf base out here: crushed stone compacted in lifts to 95% Standard Proctor, laser-graded to slope water away, French drain tied in where the lot needs it. The base absorbs the seasonal movement so the shell above it stays level. That is the entire argument for pre-cast in Parker County: factory-cured concrete plus an engineered base beats a shell poured directly against soil that never stops moving.

Crane access and HOA approvals in Walsh, Willow Park, and La Madera.

Every neighborhood in the Aledo area has its own lot layout and its own architectural review process, and we have run pre-cast projects in all three of the communities below. The set itself is a rigging job we plan around one number: a finished pool weighs about 23,000 pounds. Depending on access, it arrives by boom truck, crane (over a single-story roofline is routine work), or a telehandler rig for the narrow side yards, picked on a spreader bar from four cast-in lifting rings.

  • Walsh. Wide street frontage and generous side-yard access on most lots make a street-side crane swing straightforward, whether the home sits on the Fort Worth or Aledo side of the community.
  • Willow Park. Older, more mature tree lines mean crane reach and overhead clearance need a closer look. That is exactly what our free Google Earth review checks before anyone commits to anything.
  • La Madera. Newer, master-planned lots with consistent setbacks, which tends to make both the crane pick and the HOA packet the most predictable of the three.

The HOA side moves faster than most homeowners expect. A plunge pool tops out around 7' by 13', a small fraction of the impervious coverage a full gunite pool consumes, so the project usually clears standard architectural review instead of triggering a coverage or setback variance. We hand the review committee a finished factory spec sheet rather than a stack of custom construction drawings, which is normally the quicker packet on the desk of an Aledo-area ARC.

A compact plunge-pool footprint fits Aledo-area lots, and their HOAs, that a full gunite pool never would.

Why we pair every pool with a turf surround.

Bearcat builds turf and pre-cast pools under one roof, and in Aledo those two things belong together. Parker County clay does the same thing to a pool-deck lawn that it does to the rest of the yard: it cracks, puddles, and dies off in a ring around the coping where chlorine splash-out and constant foot traffic beat up real Bermuda every summer.

Turf set flush to the pool edge solves all of it at once. No mud tracked in from a bare-dirt surround after a rain. No chlorine-scorched grass ring that never fills back in. No standing water at the coping line, because the base underneath is laser-graded to the same 1-2% drainage slope we build into every turf install. The result is a pool deck that looks the same in August as it did in April, with none of the maintenance a natural lawn surround demands.

Built to last, in writing.

  • Built by the original. Soake has hand-tiled precast plunge pools since 2014, with more than 1,800 installed nationwide, and every shell is ETL listed with the sticker on the pool for your city inspector.
  • 5-year structural warranty on the Soake shell, 3-year Jandy equipment warranty, and a 25-year Laticrete warranty on the tile bond, the exact failure mode that forces resurfacing on plaster pools.
  • 15-year turf warranty, 5-year Bearcat workmanship warranty on every surround, base, and drainage line we install alongside the pool.
  • Local and fast. Bearcat is headquartered in Aledo. Warranty visits and follow-up calls happen quickly because we are not driving in from Dallas.

Frequently asked questions

Does a pre-cast plunge pool handle Aledo clay better than a gunite pool?

Yes, and it is the main reason we steer Aledo and Parker County clients toward pre-cast. Gunite is sprayed against your native soil and takes the shrink-swell movement directly, which is the root cause of the structural cracks common in older DFW gunite pools. A pre-cast shell is cured off-site and set on an engineered, compacted base that isolates it from the clay, so the base absorbs the seasonal movement instead of the pool shell.

Can a crane reach pool sites in Walsh, Willow Park, and La Madera?

In the large majority of yards, yes. We start every Aledo-area project with a free Google Earth review of the lot: gate width, roofline, overhead lines, and where the crane can park. Walsh and La Madera lots tend to have generous street frontage that makes a street-side swing straightforward. Willow Park's older, tree-lined streets need a closer look, which is exactly why the assessment is free and comes before any contract.

Will my Aledo-area HOA approve a pre-cast plunge pool faster than a full gunite pool?

Generally, yes. A 7'x13' or smaller plunge pool has a fraction of the impervious-coverage footprint of a traditional gunite pool, which usually keeps the project inside the setback and coverage limits an ARC reviews on a standard application instead of a variance. We also hand the architectural review committee a finished factory spec sheet instead of a set of custom construction drawings, which is normally the faster packet to approve.

How does turf around the pool help in Aledo specifically?

Aledo's clay does the same thing to a pool deck lawn that it does to the rest of the yard: it cracks, it puddles, and Bermuda struggles against chlorine splash-out at the coping line. Turf set flush to the pool edge solves both problems at once. No mud tracked in from the surround, no dead grass ring around the pool, and a laser-graded, well-drained base that does not shift the way native clay does.

How do I book a yard walk and crane assessment in Aledo?

Call or text 817-803-1445, or request one online. Colin walks the site, confirms crane access and utility lines, and talks through pool models and turf surround options on the spot. You leave with a fixed-price proposal, not a number that grows later.

The mud was destroying the yard every time the dogs came in. Six months later the grass looks better than day one, and the kids can play out there the morning after a storm.

My son's travel-ball schedule eats every weekend. Having a cage in the backyard means he can get 100 swings after school instead of driving to a facility. Paid for itself in two seasons.
Chris · Aledo
I watched their crew compact the crushed stone in two passes. That's not normal in this industry — most installers cut the base prep. A year in, the surface is dead-flat.
