The brief
A new build in Parks of Aledo with Jobe Homes, for a couple who wanted a high-end backyard and had no interest in working for it. The lot backs onto a greenbelt, so the view was already there. What they wanted from us was a finished space that lived up to the house and the setting, stayed lush year round, and asked nothing of them in return. A backyard to enjoy, not a backyard to maintain.
That is a specific brief, and it points to one answer: a premium artificial turf, installed right, on a yard designed around looking good and being left alone.
Built in with the builder
This one came together with Jobe Homes, an Aledo home builder, while the house was still under construction. Doing the turf as part of the build instead of bolting it on later is the cleaner way to work. The grading and drainage get planned before the yard is closed in, access is open before fences and gates box everything off, and the homeowners move into a finished backyard instead of a dirt lot with a phase two attached. By the time they had keys, the yard was done.
A backyard that meets the greenbelt
Backing onto green space is the kind of lot people pay up for, and it changes how you finish the yard. The goal is not to wall the backyard off from the natural view, it is to hand off to it. We kept the wrought-iron fence open to the greenbelt and ran the turf right to it, so the manicured lawn reads as the front edge of the natural landscape rather than a bright rectangle fighting against it.
That is also where a high-end turf earns its place. A cheap, uniform green would announce itself against the wild grass and trees beyond the fence. A premium blend does the opposite: it holds a rich, varied color that sits comfortably next to the real thing.
Why Coastal Blend Pro
We finished the yard in 1,200 square feet of Coastal Blend Pro, one of the most natural-looking turfs we install. Its tri-color blade, blending field, apple, and olive green tones, reads as a real, well-kept lawn under direct sun and shade alike, and the Mini Wave shape gives it a soft hand underfoot. It is the turf we reach for on high-design and developer-led projects precisely because it photographs and ages well in every season, which is exactly what a greenbelt lot like this one calls for.
Enjoy it, do not work on it
The whole point of this backyard is that it gives back without asking. No mowing. No watering schedule. No fertilizing, no aerating, no brown patches in an Aledo August, and nothing that falls apart while the owners are away. The turf drains fast, holds its color through full Texas sun, and looks the same whether they spent the weekend on the patio or out of town entirely.
For a couple who wanted their yard to be a place they relax, not a chore on the calendar, that is the feature that matters more than any spec.

Before
What we started with.
A new Jobe Homes build with the backyard still raw: bare graded dirt and a freshly poured patio slab, with the iron fence already lining the greenbelt out back. Good bones and a great view, and nothing finished yet.
