The project
The Country Club of Peoria, a private club in Peoria Heights, Illinois, needed to turn its pool deck, event lawn, and rooftop terrace into wedding-ready space for a major fall wedding, with guests flying in from around the country. The same Bearcat crew that builds backyards and putting greens across the DFW metroplex and Austin corridor traveled north to Illinois to deliver it. No local sub, no handoff, the exact same install standard the crew holds on every Texas job.
Turf decked directly over the pools
The reception’s dance floor and pergola sat on a temporary platform spanning both of the club’s pools, and our crew’s job was the 9,500 square feet of TH Ultra covering that platform and the surrounding party spaces, turning structural decking over open water into a surface guests could stand, dance, and eat dinner on without a second thought. TH Ultra is a dense, short-pile turf built around a C-shaped, two-tone Field/Olive yarn blend that reads as a natural lawn under event photography, with CoolFlo airflow venting to keep it comfortable underfoot for guests standing around all evening, and a 15-year manufacturer warranty behind it. A surface with zero room for a redo, installed over water, for an event that only happens once.
On the rooftop terrace overlooking the lake, 700 square feet of Tour Elite was carved into a custom paver-built wedding aisle and ceremony platform, so the ceremony walk read as a designed hardscape feature, complete with a turf-topped stage under the floral arches, rather than a strip of turf laid over grass.
On time, on budget, for a day that doesn’t get a second take
A wedding does not move. There is no rain date for the install, no slipping the schedule a day if something runs long. The crew delivered the full 10,200 square feet across the pool deck, party areas, and aisle on time and on budget, ready for a ceremony where friends and family had already booked flights.
