Turf Agility & Sled Training Lanes

A strip of turf built for the part of training a lawn can't handle: sled pushes and pulls, resisted sprints, agility ladder work. We build these inside commercial training facilities all the time — this is the same spec, sized down for a backyard or side yard.

Why a dedicated lane instead of just turfing the yard

Standard residential turf isn't built for a loaded sled dragging across the same six-foot path hundreds of times a month. It mats down, the infill migrates, and the backing wears through years faster than it should. A sled lane uses the same heavier-duty fiber and backing we spec for batting-cage hitting turf, on a firmer, better-drained base, so it holds up to repeat impact instead of just repeat foot traffic.

What's included

• Heavy-duty turf. Short-pile, dense fiber engineered for sled drag and repeated impact, not a residential lawn product.
• Reinforced base. Firmer sub-base than a standard lawn install, graded so the lane doesn't rut where the sled runs.
• Lane markings (optional). Inlaid yard markers or contrasting turf stripes for timed sprint work.

Common Bearcat lane builds

• Mini lane (20-30 ft). Fits most side yards. Sled work, agility ladder, resisted band sprints. $3,000-$5,000.
• Full lane (40-50 ft). Room for real sprint mechanics and longer sled pushes. $5,000-$8,000.
• Combined with an existing build. Adding a lane alongside a batting cage or home gym project shares the site visit and crew, and usually costs less than building it as a standalone project.
