Backyard turf and patio installs in North Richland Hills.

Covered patios with no grass to water, pool surrounds that drain correctly, full-yard conversions under oak canopies, and dog runs that stop the mud cycle. We work in NRH constantly and know the neighborhoods well.

What NRH homeowners hire us for

  • Full-yard backyard conversions — pull out the failing bermuda, grade for drainage, install a base, and lay premium turf that looks the same in August as it does in March. The single most-requested project in NRH.
  • Covered patio surrounds — the patch of yard behind a pergola or covered patio cover where grass refuses to grow because it's in full shade. Turf solves the problem without fighting the shade.
  • Patio transitions and hardscape inlays — turf set flush against existing concrete, pavers, and flagstone. Clean seam-tuck edges so it reads as part of the design rather than a patch.
  • Pool surrounds — the narrow strips around a pool where water pools after rain and dogs wear the grass down to dirt. Cool-blend infill option keeps the surface walkable on hot deck days.
  • Dog runs and pet areas — fully permeable backing, zeolite antimicrobial infill, and reinforced seams. Stops the mud cycle in the corners dogs use most. See the NRH pet turf page for specifics.
  • Backyard putting greens — custom stimp speed, tour-grade fringe, contoured base. Sized from 200 sqft starter greens to larger multi-hole layouts. See the NRH putting green page.

The NRH shade and clay problem

Most of North Richland Hills was developed in the 1980s and 1990s, which means the oak and pecan trees are fully grown in. The canopy cover that makes the neighborhoods beautiful also kills the bermuda underneath. By the time a lot gets to 20 or 30 years of growth, the shade is too heavy for any grass to thrive.

Add Tarrant County clay soil with decades of compaction and poor drainage, and you get a yard that puddles in spring, cracks in summer, and turns to mud whenever it rains. Turf doesn't fix poor drainage on its own, which is why base prep matters more than the turf product itself. We excavate the compacted layer, install crushed stone in lifts, laser-grade to slope, and add French drains where the topography needs them. For the full explanation see our guide on artificial turf drainage on North Texas clay.

Patio and hardscape work we do alongside turf

Turf is usually one part of a backyard upgrade. We also install the outdoor elements that go with it. See the full landscaping and hardscape menu for pricing, but the services NRH homeowners most commonly pair with a turf install:

  • Paver patios and walkways
  • Retaining walls and raised garden borders
  • Pergolas and shade sails
  • Outdoor lighting and drainage

Nearby cities we serve

We run installs across all of mid and north Tarrant County: Keller, Colleyville, Fort Worth, Southlake, Hurst, Euless, Bedford, Haltom City, and Watauga. NRH sits right in the middle of our active service zone.
