Reps happen when the field is in your backyard.

The difference between a player who puts in 30 minutes a day and one who gets to the cages twice a week is not talent. It is access. A purpose-built backyard training surface removes every excuse. No drive, no booking, no weather.

What we build.

  • Hitting stations. Turf mats and stance areas sized for live batting practice, soft toss, or tee work.
  • Pitching lanes with proper mounds. Regulation-spec clay or turf mounds at the right distance for your player's division.
  • Fielding and catch zones. Flat, true turf surfaces for grounders, pop-ups, and long toss.
  • Multi-use yards. Train in the morning, let the dogs out in the afternoon. Same surface.

Built for daily use.

Our backyard training surfaces are built with the same materials and base work we use for full infield conversions. That means they can take real daily reps for years, not seasons. UV-stabilized fibers for Texas sun. Proper drainage for Texas storms.

We come out, walk the space, talk about how your player trains today, and design a layout that fits. Every backyard is different. Every family has a different goal.

Bearcat Turf backyard training install — drone aerial of a fully enclosed batting cage with mound, plate, training mat target, and surrounding turf, integrated against an estate residence.
Backyard training install — enclosed batting cage with mound, plate, and target setup. Engineered to the same drainage and base spec as our full-field work, scaled to a residential yard.

The same spec we'd build full fields to — scaled to your yard.

On a 200,000-square-foot multi-sport field, the build standard we bid to is a tier most installers never touch: subgrade compacted per geotechnical report, perimeter concrete curb and turf-attachment nailer, impermeable sub-grade liner tied to a 2,800-LF HDPE perforated drainage collector, 6 inches of laser-graded drain stone, a Schmitz EcoSport performance pad, and Shaw Sports Turf Legion Pro 2.00 with sand-and-rubber infill.

Your backyard doesn't need 200,000 square feet of stadium-grade drainage. But it benefits from the same thinking. We bring the engineering discipline from the public-bid side to every backyard install: real subgrade prep, real drainage planning, performance-grade turf rather than residential carpet, infill matched to how your player actually trains. The result is a backyard surface that holds up to a thousand swings a week and still looks the part five years in.

Our full multi-sport field build standard lives on the specifications page if you want to see the bar we hold ourselves to.
